CONTEST & REVIEWS: Aller-Ease.com Cotton Pillow Protector

The tightly-woven construction of Aller-Ease Cotton is a fortress against microscopic particles, pollen and dog dander. Plus, Aller-Ease Cotton is made with 100% cool, breathable cotton fabric to provide a comfortable and restful night’s sleep. Aller-Ease Cotton allows air to flow to pass easily through the fabric and doesn’t trap body heat or moisture against the skin, allowing you to sleep more peacefully all night long.

DETERMINING THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COLDS & ALLERGIES

symptoms

REVIEW

Late last Spring I developed those infamous allergies. At first I thought I was having one long and horrible cold, but my doctor finally broke it down to me about how our bodies under-go changes every once in a while, with no reasoning as to why, and we can develop allergies to things that never bothered us before.

I was miserable…and that’s putting it lightly. It seemed like it always happened at the worst moments. I would be driving down the highway, with my then 4-year-old daughter in the backseat, and one of my eyes would just begin to water uncontrollably. Then, there were those non-stop and intrusive sneezes that would show-up right in the middle of a face-to-face conversation with someone…embarrassing! I finally came to the conclusion that medication was a necessity just to live a normal day.

I’ve had this pillow case, by Aller-ease.com, for about 5 weeks now and really wanted to see if helped as I know just how important it is to have those things when you suffer from allergies. I have learned to truly appreciate what it has done for me…

First & foremost I have been sleeping better and my allergies have even settled down tremendously. Due to FDA regulations I can not sit here and tell you that this pillow case is the precise reason why, but I can tell you that it was a major coincidence in the difference that I experienced right after I began using it.

Another positive is that I hate sweating when I sleep if it’s too hot, etc. and using this pillow case has ceased that as the cotton allows your skin to breathe. If you can’t tell already I have not put my pillow case back on and quite honestly have no intentions of putting it back on - I like this one a lot better! My personal recommendation is to go out and purchase a new pillow before putting this cover on so you know that your pillow is getting the ultimate protection as this protector zips up to really seal out any ‘intruders’. I can only imagine what a benefit this pillow case can do for those who suffer from asthma as well.

CONTEST & REVIEW: EvoraKids

evorakids_1

ABOUT

Following on the heels of its successful retail introduction of EvoraPlus™ oral care system for adults, Florida-based biopharmaceutical company Oragenics, Inc.  (www.oragenics.com OTCBB: ORNI) has launched EvoraKids™ (www.evorakids.com), the first probiotic-based, all-natural oral care chewable created to promote oral health for children 3-10 years old.

Featuring a tasty Wild Very Cherry Berry chew, EvoraKids includes Oragenics’ patent pending ProBiora3 technology, which has been specifically formulated for children to help maintain healthy teeth, their biggest oral care problem.

EvoraKids reaches where toothbrushes and floss can’t, into the crevices on the chewing surfaces of teeth.  According to the Journal of the American Dental Association*, 80-90% of cavities in children occur on the chewing surfaces of their teeth.  The major cause of tooth decay is Streptococcus mutans, a common bacteria found in dental plaque.  It thrives in people with diets high in sugar, and especially children who tend to eat sugary foods often and haven’t yet learned the need for good oral hygiene.

EvoraKids is 100% natural and made in the USA in an FDA registered and GMP certified facility ensuring both the highest quality ingredients and complete integrity.

REVIEW

Taste is a big issue when getting kids to try anything that is good for them.  We, okay my 5-year-old daughter, literally tested this product for the full 30 days and not once did she complain about the flavor. In fact, most of the time she reminded me that it was time to take her “tooth medicine” as she calls it. I enjoyed knowing that she was taking something that is completely natural & safe as most parents will agree is important to us.

Her breath was noticeably fresh and it really helped to reach those places that she couldn’t reach. I’ve referred to it as her liquid floss if that gives you any indication. I’m looking forward to what her Dentist has to say on her next visit and for once… give him a recommendation.

CONTEST & REVIEW: Zippity Doo Lice Prevention Children’s Hair Care Products

zippity-logo

Children + School = A parents sincere concern over head lice.

We’ve had 3 outbreaks in my daughters school this year and it always leaves me feeling more than uneasy. Fortunately, she has yet to be affected and I’m entirely grateful for that. I’ve done what I can do to help prevent it, but sometimes tossing your child’s hair into a ponytail isn’t always effective.

zippity-shampooIn addition, I’m not sure if a lot of you are aware of the literal danger in using the Lice Treatment Kit’s available out there… it even says something along the lines of, “Not for human use” right on their box. Yet, they are still being marketed for precisely that and countless children have been harmed by the chemicals in the treatment. Which is why I refuse to ever use it on my daughter.

zippity-conditionerWith that said, the alternatives that aren’t harmful include using mayonnaise or olive oil overnight while having your hair tightly wrapped in plastic - and even those are not 100% at removing any knits or bugs. Using the hair dryer is a means to kill the bugs, but not the knits. So you’re bound to sit, for hours, going through your child’s hair - strand by strand - and hope that you’ve rid them of any ‘critters’.

Fortunately there is a line of children hair care products that help prevent head lice that’s made of natural ingredients! And they are called Zippity Doo! As a parent - this excites me more than I could possibly explain to those who aren’t. Now when I send my daughter off to school I breathe easier and know that she has the best possible defense against such an enormous hassle.

zippity-gelTheir product line includes shampoo, conditioner, leave-in detangler, hair gel and shield spray. The concept is to use the shampoo & conditioner and either use the hair gel or leave-in detangler as a 2nd line of defense. The shield spray can be used on anything that your child’s hair comes into contact with: clothes, pillows, blankets, stuffed animals, etc.

I’m sure you’re wondering if the shampoo & conditioner work. The answer is a resounding, “Yes”; and they smell good as well. In fact, they smell really good. They shampoo & conditioner are dense enough to be effective in cleaning your child’s hair, but not to weigh them down during daily use. In addition the shine is an added bonus!

My daughter loves having her own special products to use and gets excited every time she gets to use them. The leave-in detangler is very good at getting those tangles out and doesn’t leave a greasy film behind which detanglers are notorious for doing. I haven’t let her dabble too much with the hair gel as she has a tendency to over-use products if given the opportunity. Albeit, again, there was no greasy residue and a light fragrance to it.

CONTEST & REVIEW: Mirra

mirra-logo

ABOUT:

What do women want? According to recent survey results, women believe beauty products made with both natural ingredients and proven scientific technologies work best – and that’s what new beauty brand, mirra™ provides.
In addition to its own consumer research, mirra recently conducted an online survey of over 500 women asking a variety of questions about beauty care products and regimens.   Here’s what women said:

77 percent said products that have both natural ingredients and proven technologies, work best.  Only nine percent said products with all natural ingredients, alone, were best; and 14 percent said the same of science only products.

71 percent chose “Take 10” as the best description of their beauty style and routine.  They said they don’t have a lot of time and don’t spend a lot of time on their beauty routine – 10 minutes at most.   Other options included “soak and savor,” “60 minutes,” and  “beat the clock.”

Their description of a “bad hair day” was evenly split between “flat” (37 percent) and “frizzy” (35 percent).  (15 percent said fly-away; 13 percent said oily).

*The online survey was conducted by the Consumer Research Department at The Kroger Co. in October 2009 among 502 women between the ages of 35 and 54.

Launching now, mirra products include shampoos and conditioners; hair styling products; body washes and mists; facial and skin care lotions, cleansers and cleansing cloths; eye firming and age defying creams; and cosmetic brushes.

mirra-products-11mirra products are made with natural ingredients, such as olive oil, aloe leaf juice, and cranberry, bamboo, honey and chicory root extracts.  Proven technologies are used for many of the products too.  For example, the revolutionary oleosome emulsion technology is used in skin care products to deliver long lasting moisture that keeps protecting and nourishing skin long after application.

mirra products can be found in the beauty care aisles exclusively at all stores that are part of the Kroger Co. family. For a limited time, mirra is offering $5 off when you purchase any two mirra products. To download the coupon visit www.kroger.com\coupons.

REVIEW:

I must be honest with all of you when I heard that Kroger was putting out a line of beauty products I literally questioned on just how good they would be. I’ve always known Kroger as a grocery company… not a beauty company.

However, that all changed when I received the samples…

SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER

Do you ever wonder why your shampoo and conditioner look a like (i.e. same color, similar consistency, etc.)? That has truly been something that has always made me wonder just how much effort was being put into the actual effectiveness of a product. Sincerely, they don’t have to match… and mirra doesn’t. None of their products that I have reviewed had any similarities and that got my attention from the get go.

The scent was amazing; nothing over-powering or too weak. Just enough where those who have hugged me have complimented on the smell of it and have asked what I’m using - win!

The texture of my hair is normally wavy and has a minor random fly-away problem. mirra didn’t weigh my hair down, made it feel soft and managed the fly-away issue a lot better than most. Was it completely rectified? No, but there was a noticeable difference. Another win!

What I really liked the most is it’s not made from all of those potentially harmful chemicals so I felt like I was really giving my hair to the royal treatment.

BODY & FACE

The lotion provided wasn’t greasy, but also did a great job at keeping my skin moisturized throughout the day - my daughter especially enjoyed using it as she said it made her skin feel so soft; 5-year-old opinions are as honest as they get. The fragrance, again, was nothing over-powering at all. There is a very light scent to it.

The facial scrub was nothing short of fantastic, IMHO. I used it in conjunction with my Clarasonic Mia and my face felt very smooth and clean. It wasn’t abrasive and it rinses off easily.

The facial cream and eye cream is the perfect follow-up from the facial scrub. I followed the directions and applied once in the morning and once in the evening and as mentioned before… I’m receiving compliments from other people without asking them for it. In short, no preface of, “Hey does my face look any younger to you?” - all compliments are unsolicited and that instantly makes me a fan!

CONTEST & REVIEW: AVerySpecialHeart.com Medical Emergency Identification Jewelry

1AVerySpecialHeart.com had something that every person who has the potential to end up in a medical emergency… needs. Particularly those of us who don’t like the more common medical ID alert bracelets and necklaces available. I’ve discovered that not only can you have even more information at medical personnel fingertips, but you can have a bit more style than ‘the norm’.

As most of you know I ’suffer’ (and I say that lightly as I’m doing quite well) from three (3) chronic diseases: 1. Diabetes 2. Kidney Diseases and 3. Thyroid.

Having suffered from a life-threatening situation back in July of 2008 I realized that had my own mother not been present to answer the questions of the EMT Staff, I’m not certain that I would have been able to give them all of the information that they NEEDED to know.

It is not an option to give them your medical history, diagnosis, etc. - as it’s imperative that they have as much information available to them to help possibly save your life; even more so if you are unable to speak for yourself.

AVerySpecialHeart.com has an amazing alternative that not only provides the opportunity to wear your life-saving medical information on your person, but to have it in such detail and   convenience, that I feel more confident knowing it’s with me at all times.

The fact that it’s not a cheap bracelet or military “dog tag” is an added bonus. You can either wear the heart (they also have a globe-shape available) as a necklace, that comes in either silver or gold, but alternate it as a key chain as well.

1_4_I have bumped the heart up against my front door frame, car door, dropped it on the ground and any other common mishaps that one can do with their keychain and it has held up to anything. The case that slips over the USB stayed put. You do have to make certain that the lid is snapped shut and it doesn’t take any strength, whatsoever, to accomplish this - it’s a simple click.

Please note, however, that when I went to put the heart onto the provided chain… the chain did break & I was unable to fix it. With that said, my philosophy was simply this: you aren’t paying for the chain, you are paying for the heart. Not to mention I really like the keychain - it’s extremely sturdy - again it got put to the test and has not broken even once nor does it show any wear. You can also use it as a purse clip!

heartmedicine4The medical alert hearts come open to reveal a USB. Plugging the USB into any USB port will quickly pull-up any information that you have already listed on it. Information such as:

1. Your name, address, phone number.
2. Your medical diagnoses, medication list, past medical history
3. Your doctors’ names, address and phone number.
4. Your emergency contact(s) information
5. Allergies, etc.

All in one convenient screen that has your optional uploaded picture attached and everything can be quickly printed.

In addition, you also receive the following services with your order:

  • Jeweler crafted 18k gold or rhodium silver finished heart or globe
  • Emergency and Full Health Information for a WHOLE FAMILY
  • Wallet Medical Information Card for emergency care instructions
  • Pill compartment for Emergency Medication
  • 24 Hour on Call Registered Nurse
  • FREE REPLACEMENT if you lose or damage your heart or globe
  • Secured backups, health information, and other valuable online services

As a former 911 Dispatcher, I can not stress enough just how important it is to have all of this information at their disposal. It’s been said before, but I will stress it here again, “It can literally be the difference between life & death”.

AVerySpecialHeart.com comes with a 30-DAY, UNCONDITIONAL, 100% MONEY BACK GUARANTEE.

As of today (March 12, 2010) they also have this posted on their website: Take advantage of our special price of $89.95, a $60 savings over our regular price of $149.95. FOR A LIMITED TIME THIS INCLUDES SHIPPING AND ANY APPLICABLE TAXES.
